This tip/trick is something that EVERY PERSON, with or without kids should think about: How often have you wasted time looking for your keys? Ever locked your keys in the car? Have you spent time wrestling the keys away from your child? Have you found yourself yelling at a loved one in desperation of finding lost keys? Have you nearly lost it or been on the brink of cracking from not being able to find your keys while also trying to load up a car with kids, diaper bags, packages and or sports gear?

Well, I have an easy trick, and because of it I’ve never had any of these struggles, and I’ve saved so much time and mental abuse thanks to this easy trick…. This is honestly my VERY favorite, time saving, mind easing, super simple trick, but especially with having twins! So today for TwinZone Tuesday’s I’m sharing this trick in hopes that it helps the sanity of at least one other mother! Or one other person!

Easily hooks onto my bra or diaper bag. I like the bigger hooks so it's easier and quicker to hook.

Key Chain Key Ring or as emergency medical technicians call them, “Handy Paracord Accessory Tools”

• It’s a ring that holds your keys attached to a chain for hooking (I always use leather, instead of metal, so it isn’t cold or too hot against your skin and I think leather holds up better.)

• I usually hook it to my bra, but I’ve also hooked it to a belt loop or the zipper part on the diaper bag.

• Additionally, designate a place to always put your keys as soon as your reenter your home.

Especially having twins, this has probably been the best trick in helping me manage outings.

You can't even see the key chain or keys but they are there: easily opening door while holding my twins

Why this helps so much:
1) Concentrate fully on the safety and whereabouts of your children
2) Never lose keys
3) Never lock your keys inside your car
4) Have hands free for holding and carrying children and other needs
5) Save lots and lots of time overall
6) An average of 10 minutes is wasted DAILY looking for keys.
7) Improve your relationships. Four out of ten arguments with a spouse are over lost items, and keys is #2 most lost item.
8) Improve your mental well-being by lessening a physical and emotional drain via trying to always look for and find keys.
9) Emergency medical technicians use these handy paracord accessory tools for their keys to help manage being on the go and caring for others….well that is exactly my role these days in motherhood land!
10) I don’t know about your kids, but one of my boys can be out of sight in .000002 seconds which leaves me .0000 seconds for looking or keeping up with keys.

This is what it looked like when carrying our infant car seats around(already sold). I did this often and without help. My husband could also hook the keys into a button hole.

This is what it looked like when carrying our infant car seats around (buckets for show since already sold). I did this often and without help which is why I so needed help like the key chain/ring.
My husband could also hook the keys into a button hole and unlock the car door(as seen in this picture).

The doors on my car open with a touch of a button on my keychain, but even if you don’t have this, nearly everyone has a button they can push to unlock a door.I can still manage to hold both twins, push a button to unlock and open a door without setting a twin, that is probably waiting to make a mad dash away, down.
I’m sure I would be dropping keys left and right if I had to hold them in my hand while also trying to hold both twins and unlock a door. Most of the time I’m even holding the hand of my 4 yr old while crossing parking lots, carrying a diaper bag and holding the twins.

Often, I had to carry the twins in their infant car seats into mother-me yoga, stores, even up and down stairs to pick my son up from summer camp. I loved having my key chain key ring hanging down allowing me to concentrate on holding the two heavy car seats with infants.

How the Key Chain Key Ring Works for Me:
Scenario 1: Garage-Car-Garage
1) As I exit to the garage with my kids, I grab keys located at full time designated place and hook the keys to my bra.
2) Then I load up kids, load up stuff and more stuff into the car.
3) Hop into the driver’s seat.
4) Unhook keys and ready to go.
5) So MUCH time and mental thinking saved!

Scenario 2+: Car-Parking Lots-Car-Playgrounds-Car
1) Repeat Garage-Car-Garage scenario above. As soon as you turn off the car engine, hook your keys to your bra.
2) Unload kids and all the stuff and more stuff, put stroller together, if needed, load stroller and when everyone is loaded and ready to go, don’t look for the keys, they are attached to you, brilliant!
3) Just lock door
4) Unhook key chain from your bra and put into your diaper bag/purse.
5) When I put mine into a diaper/purse, I still hook them onto the outside and zip up or hook onto a place on the inside and zip up so they are always in the same go to place.
6) As soon as we start to leave a playground, or store, I take my keys out and hook them to my bra.

So even if you do not have twins or any kids, some of the simple tricks from this post could help every person save time, improve relationships and mental stress: 1) designate a place to always put your keys as soon as your reenter your home and consider the key hook for placing the keys on you or your purse when exiting the home. What is your favorite trick that helped you manage your newborns, teenagers, twins, or children in general?
Every Tuesday we publish a post from moms of Multiples for the TwinZone Tuesdays. Are you a mom of multiples? Are you in the TwinZone? We would love to connect and hear from you!

The following are some ideas for Key Chain Key Ring’s to purchase:
You want to purchase something that has a hook big enough to quickly and easily hook on to your belt loop, bra, diaper bag or purse.
You also want to purchase something that is long enough, if you are holding a child, where you can still reach the keys.

From Coach and Italian Leather to just practical, lots to choose from.

I like the Paracord Survival Keychain (besides the title being so fitting) it is cheap, has a little color and is practical. Nice big carabiner hook to quickly and easily go on and off a bra, diaper bag or purse.
